DPhil Student
University of Oxford, Dept. of Materials
University of Oxford, United Kingdom
After graduating with an MSci Chemical Physics from University of Glasgow in 2019 Emma Hedley joined the group of Prof. Peter Nellist at University of Oxford. Here her research has focused on using low dose methods and 4D-STEM techniques to characterise the structure of beam sensitive cathode materials. She has focused on understanding challenges in characterising short range order in disordered rocksalt cathodes and also optimising ptychography for low dose regimes. Her paper “A Quantitative Understanding of Short Range Order in Disordered Rocksalt Cathodes” was awarded a 2022 Student Scholar Award.
She has a strong interest in pursuing a career in research and is particularly interested in new 4D-STEM methods. She is also enthusiastic about participating in science outreach events with the Department of Materials in Oxford.
