The aim of my research is to understand the degradation processes of energy materials, to aid the design more sustainable and high-performant materials for our future energy needs. My main tool for reserach is atomic scale simulations, often in conjunction with state-of-the-art experimental characterisation techniques, as I beleive that the a combined modelling/experimetnal approach is more powerful that either alone. My research interest spans many energy materials, from solar cells to nuclear, from fusion to fuel cells, from betavoltaic to supercapacitors. I am also interested in building new way to bridge the gap between theory and experiments.
