I’m Huiming Guo, a 2nd-year Ph.D. student in Prof. William Bowman Lab in the University of California, Irvine. I major in materials science and engineering and focus on electroceramics in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). I am interested in high-resolution grain boundary and heterointerface characterization with scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) and spectroscopy (EDS, EELS), tune structure of grain boundaries for fast ionic transport pathways in oxygen ionic conductors, and self-assemble nanostructures in functional oxide thin films via pulsed laser deposition (PLD) for optimizing ionic/electronic conduction.
