Toshihiro “Toshi” Aoki is a materials scientist and electron microscopist specializing in nanomaterials characterization using conventional and aberration-corrected S/TEM, EELS, EDS, and 4D-STEM. He currently serves as a project scientist and TEM leader in Center for Transmission Electron Microscopy (CTEM) in UC Irvine Materials Research Institute (IMRI), overseeing operations, applications, user training and maintenance of four S/TEMs (Nion UltraSTEM 200 HERMES, JEOL Grand ARM300CF-double-corrected with Gatan K2 IS/Summit, JEOL-2800, and JEOL-2100F Cryo with Gatan K3).
Prior to joining UCI, he was a TEM applications Specialist for JEOL USA, and a research engineer at John M. Cowley Center for High-Resolution Electron Microscopy in Arizona State University.
