Carlos Gamaliel Garay Reyes obtained a doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering from the Autonomous University of San Luis PotosĂ (UASP). He is attached to the Department of Metallurgy and Structural Integrity of the Center for Research in Advanced Materials (CIMAV). His lines of research are conventional metallurgy and metal matrix composite materials. His areas of interest are the production and mechanical-microstructural characterization of composite materials with a metal matrix reinforced with nanostructured materials, aluminum alloys, nickel-based alloys, high-entropy alloys, phase transformations, new materials, and the microstructure-mechanical properties relationship. He is the author of 30 publications in international journals and more than 56 papers in international congresses. He has 221 citations (h-index 8), has participated in 13 research projects, and has the registration of 2 patents.
