András Kovács is a research staff scientist in the Ernst Ruska-Centre for Microscopy and Spectroscopy with Electrons at Research Centre Jülich, Germany. He received his Master degree in Engineering-Physics in 1997 in Ukraine and the Doctoral degree in Physics, Material Science in 2005 from Eötvös Lorand University, Budapest, Hungary. His scientific career started as research associate at the Research Institute for Technical Physics and Materials Science, Budapest, Hungary. He was a post-doctoral scientist for three years at The Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research, Osaka University, Japan, for two years at University of Oxford, U.K. and for two years at the Center for Electron Nanoscopy, Technical University of Denmark. He joined the Ernst Ruska-Centre in 2011. His research interest is to study magnetic properties of materials using transmission electron microscopy methods including off-axis electron holography.
