Ofelia Hernandez-Negrete is a Research Assistant Professor in Materials Science and Engineering at Universidad de Sonora's Chemistry and Metallurgy Department.
Hernandez-Negrete's research focuses on the microstructural modification of materials to improve their properties. She has a broad experience in structural materials for high-temperature applications and works with structural materials such as steels, Fe-based alloys, and aluminium matrix composites.
Ofelia received her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Sheffield, where she was granted Scholarships from CONACYT and the Roberto Rocca Education Program. Before her PhDs studies, Ofelia worked on research projects to develop new alloys for the USA air force-CIMAV collaboration and CIMAV-CONACYT in Mexico.
