Research Scientist
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
Bethany is a Material Scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory where she has worked since 2018. Her work focuses on use of a variety of complementary microscopy techniques, including x-ray tomography, focused ion beam, scanning, and transmission electron microscopy, to examine microstructure and defects from the micro- to atomic-scale in nuclear materials, thin film oxides, archaeological glass, battery cathodes, and more. She received her PhD, MS, and BS in Physics from Oregon State University where her research focused on creation and characterization of meta-stable pulsed laser deposited and sputter deposited thin films of new chalcogenide alloys and new nitride alloys.
