Principal Systems Architect
Thermo Fisher Scientific
EINDHOVEN, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands
I studied Electrical Engineering at the Technical University in Delft, The Netherlands, obtained a PhD on text-to-speech at the Philips Reseach Laborotories in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, and joined Philps Electron Optics in 1993 (later FEI and ThermoFisher). I held various positions in this company. I started in the software group working on the TEM software (specialisation: optics), which is still operational in present day systems. I then became group leader of the system architecture group, in which we developed the STEM scan engine, and later I acted as system architect of the Tecnai to Talos system upgrade. My current position is Principal Systems Architect of the Julich BIO and TOMO instruments. The latter project aims to integrate Atom Probe Tomography (from CAMECA) on a double corrected TEM, on which I will present at M&M.
